How The Tempest Make a Play day  works

Assembly

Our Tempest day begins with an assembly to introduce the pupils and teachers to the play and the characters they will be playing.

Classes

One class works with the splats teacher at a time to learn their scene. The play is divided into 4 scenes so 4 classes can take part or 2 classes can learn 2 scenes each.

Props and sets

The other groups make props and set for the show and then come and work on their scene. We supply a full teaching pack to help guide this.

Show

At the end of the day all the classes come together to perform the show. The splats teacher acts as narrator which helps to guide the play along.

Audience

The pupils can act as their own audience as three of the scenes will be new to them but also please invite parents and other classes to watch as it is a great community event.

The Tempest Show

‘A great introduction to the inventiveness of Shakespeare.’ With mime, circus, music and of course lots of Splats fun participation. Join the Wizard Prospero and his daughter Miranda on a deserted island as he weaves a magical maze with fairy Ariel and Man monster Caliban to catch his brother and get his kingdom back.’

We are proud to present our Shakespeare in a Suitcase Productions, bringing live theatre to your school. They are a simple fun introduction to Shakespeare’s mayhem.
One hour long shows with a cast of three (needs to be seen to be believed) followed by workshops for a half  a day OR your students can create their own version with our company or visiting director to perform at the end of the day to family and friends.

Mixing modern language and original text it makes the story fun and crystal clear. The best way to experience the Bard which, lets face it, was designed to be enjoyed as a live show.

“Allow us to bring the laughs to you.”
